I RECENTLY TOOK a trip to Guadalajara, Mexico, for a week's vacation. It's a big place, with about 5 million people. Physically, it's mostly made up of one- and two-level structures, radiating in all directions from the central area, which is dominated by the historic cathedral and its adjoining squares.
