We just came back from a superb vacation in St. Tropez. La Mandarine is a beautiful hotel, and probably the best in`St Tropez. it's like staying in a French villa, it's close enough and far away enough from the jet set action of the port at the same time. It's in the hills of St. Tropez, the air was clean fresh and fragrant. If you wanted to go to the shops, clubs, restaurants, you were just 6 mns away. The staff couldn't have been any nicer. The rooms were plain, but really clean. The beach was the best part of our holidays in south of France.

Saint Tropez Hotel La Mandarine: "A 15 year regular at La Mandarine"

I first visited St. Trop in the fall of 1991 and was told to stay at La Mandarine by an Italian friend. I feel in love with the village and the area. I have returned each year for my holiday since. I have stayed at many of the 4 star and the only 4 star luxe hotel in the area over the many trip there. Many may feel the rating system flawed, but I believe this hotel offers a service unlike the others and should be rated 5 star. Set in a vineyard just a 10 minute walk from the Place de Lice, and the port, yet secluded enough not to hear a scooter or Ferrari at 4 or 5 in the a.m. when 'Cave' the fashionable disco starts to wind down. Frank the manager has been helpful and accommodating to this American for as long as memory serves me. I think anyone wanting value for your money and service with a smile, without the all the B.S. In a quiet surrounding stay here. On second thought, I rather you go somewhere else so I can continue to get my same room each summer. JC

philomena in st tropezWe recently stayed at the La Mandarine in St Tropez. The village hotel is absolutely beautiful, the typically "village de Provence". The food in the hotel was superb and the staff very friendly. The Bora Bora beach was quiet and relaxing and food was great at the restaurant. The only thing I forgot was 2 different bikini's for each day. This is a must to keep up with the rest of the sunbathers. It's all so materialistic.

I got a great deal at EUR 225 per night last August. I was slightly embarassed at my rental Renault station wagon along side al the Mercedes. Porches and the like at this 4 star hotel. It's about 1/4 from town, which wasn't a bad walk. The only down side is the charge for using their Bora Bora beach and for parking when you get there.
